Internship My Little Plastic Footprint 32 hrs, 20 weeks

Redactiestage Plastic Soup Foundation

The Plastic Soup Foundation is looking for an intern with a background in communication, journalism or new media, who wants to be instrumental in the fight against plastic soup. Because if we do not take action now, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans by 2050.

The app is currently undergoing the final test phase before its hard launch during the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi in December. The trainee will mainly be concerned with the development of this app.

The job involves:

  • editorial tasks for the new My Little Plastic Footprint app:
    • writing and editing content in consultation with the campaigner
    • harmonizing content planning with the communication team
    • advising the communication team on the social media strategy for the app
  • supporting the communication team
  • desk editorial tasks

The ideal candidate:

  • is a  higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO)  student in new media, editing, journalism or communication (preferably in their third or fourth year)
  • is enthusiastic, creative and a team player
  • writes perfect English with a smooth and creative style
  • commands spoken and written Dutch
  • has a strong affinity with new media
  • is up-to-date with online trends and media developments
  • has their own laptop which can be used for this work
  • basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Indesign is an advantage
  • has great affinity with the topic of Plastic Soup and wants to make a difference together with likeminded people

The traineeship is for 32 hours a week for the duration of 20 weeks. The internship allowance is €350 per month. Send your motivation and C.V. (in 1 pdf) by 1 December at the latest to Eric Seleky via eric[at]plasticsoupfoundation.org  re: ‘Editorial internship application’.
