What prompted you to organize a fundraising campaign?
At With Care Hospitality, we believe that corporate social responsibility is a matter of course. Every year, we choose an organization that we actively support. In 2025, our team decided to draw attention to plastic pollution—an issue that affects everyone.
What did the sponsorship campaign look like?
(Time frame, participants, activities)
In May, we started with 12 to 15 colleagues and the Plastic Soup Foundation as our charity. Together with Rock City Brewing in Amersfoort, we developed a unique beer: Ripple Effect – Plastic Free IPA. The name symbolizes that every small contribution can cause a positive chain reaction.
Our campaign was not only about donations, but also about participation. Colleagues assisted at the brewery and attended the Lepeltje Lepeltje festival. In this way, we made an impact together, both literally and figuratively—from brewing to serving.
Why did you choose the Plastic Soup Foundation?
We were quite shocked when we heard how much microplastics end up in our bodies. We also consider vitality to be of paramount importance and saw this as an opportunity to contribute to everyone's health.
How did the collaboration with PSF go?
Very pleasant. We had inspiring contact with Irene, Simone, and Robbert from PSF. Robbert also gave a lecture on the consequences of plastic pollution and how companies can contribute to change. In addition, Robbert and Marjolein visited the Rock City brewery on the day we were helping out there.
What surprised you most about this campaign?
This project generated a great deal of enthusiasm internally. Colleagues appreciated the opportunity to contribute in a tangible way, whether at the brewery or while serving drinks at the event.
What was the final outcome of the campaign?
We will share the results shortly, once the final donations have been counted.
What advice would you give to other companies?
Choose an initiative that truly suits you and aligns with the core of your company. Such a project must, of course, be embraced by your people, so active participation is the best way forward in our opinion. That way, your team will truly take it on board and you will make a lasting impact.
How has this increased your knowledge about plastic footprints?
We have become much more aware of our own impact. The PSF lecture and the research for this project have really made us look at plastic in a different light.
Do you see a follow-up to this action?
This year, we will definitely continue with Ripple Effect and Plastic Soup. Our annual CSR campaign traditionally varies in terms of content and charity, so 2026 will have a different angle again. This year, we will use the Ripple Effect beer packs as end-of-year gifts, complete with a QR donation code to give the campaign one last boost.
How would you summarize the action in one sentence?
Ripple Effect: Small beer, big impact — because together we create a wave of positive change.
