Ducor started cleaning the heavily polluted ports of Londenhaven and Brittanniëhavens in Rotterdam. Both ports are littered with a thick layer of plastic granules, also called nurdles, the raw material for many plastic products.
Ducor Petrochemicals is being held responsible for the systematic nurdle pollution of its factory surroundings in the Botlek industrial area.
Because Ducor’s plastic granules end up in the environment, the environmental department DCMR Ducor has imposed a penalty of €15,000 for each violation found. Ducor claims not to have done anything wrong…
