An ocean full plastic

Every year, millions of ocean animals suffer and die because of plastic pollution.

You can save them

As long as plastic production continues, pollution will only get worse. Plastic Soup Foundation tackles plastic pollution at the source – with  scientific research, pressure on politicians and awareness campaigns

The plastic soup

Imagine diving into the deep blue... only to find more plastic than fish.

Each year, over 500 million kilos of plastic are produced — much of it ends up in our oceans. It strangles marine life, breaks down into toxic microplastics, and poisons the very waters that sustain our planet. The ocean is choking — and it needs your help.

An Ocean of Plastic

- 3 garbage trucks of plastic dumped into oceans every minute

- Every year, millions of animals die because of plastic plastics

- Over 1,000 species affected

In 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea

“He tried to swim free — but the plastic net never let go.”

"They starve to death with a full stomach."

"From plankton to predator, no one is safe."

What does this mean for us?

“If they can’t survive, neither can we.” The plastic polluting our oceans doesn’t stay there — it comes back to us. Microplastics have been found in the fish we eat, the water we drink, and even in the placentas of unborn babies. It's not just a distant problem — it’s inside us. The line between ocean life and human life is thinner than we think.

Microplastics in our bodies are linked to inflammation, hormone disruption, and potential long-term health risks we’re only beginning to understand. They can cross into our organs, affect fertility, and even interfere with immune and brain function. As we flood the planet with plastic, we're slowly poisoning ourselves — one bite, one breath, one sip at a time.

There's Still Hope

At Plastic Soup Foundation, we believe it’s not too late to turn the tide. Every day, we work to stop plastic pollution at its source — through groundbreaking research, education, and advocacy. With your support, we’ve exposed microplastics in placentas, blood, and even the brain, bringing global attention to this invisible threat. We’ve pushed governments to act, helped shape international treaties, and empowered thousands of schools and consumers with the truth.

Your donation helps us do more — to protect our oceans, safeguard human health, and create a plastic-free future. Together, we can stop the plastic flood.
