Reorganisation at Plastic Soup Foundation

Reorganizing for impact

In a world under stress, many charities are under pressure.
This also applies to the Plastic Soup Foundation. While the number of private donors is growing, as are our business partners, funding for specific projects is lagging behind.
That is why we need to take a temporary step back and reorganise ourselves. Maria Westerbos will continue to lead the Plastic Soup Foundation's mission, which is more relevant than ever, as chief changemaker. Jacqueline Cramer will return as chair of the Board. Together with part of the existing team and a flexible group of skilled freelancers, we will ensure focus, effectiveness and continuity.

The global hunger for ever more oil and fossil fuels (‘Drill baby, drill’) is making the plastic problem ever greater and more dangerous for animals, humans and the environment.

This also seriously jeopardises the democratic path to an international Plastic Treaty.

We want and must put a stop to this. By building alliances. By offering a platform to scientists who conduct research into microplastics and health, by exposing greenwashing, by sharing environmental scandals with the general public and, above all, by offering people around the world a perspective for action to resist this all-consuming plastic tsunami.

We can use all the help we can get.

Yours included.
