Give Fred a day off on World Cleanup Day!

18 september 2021

Fred is our hero. He has been cleaning up litter daily for almost four years! Don’t you agree he deserves a day off? Sign up right now for World Cleanup Day on September 18th. Join an existing activity, or start one yourself, and don’t forget to invite as many people as possible so that Fred can relax without having to worry about the mess.

Let Fred inspire you!

Fred shows that cleaning up can be a lot of fun. You can do it while walking your dog, running, or even when you are riding a bike! Which way suits you best? Just don’t forget to use the Litterati app on your phone to record all the trash you clean as Fred does. This allows all of us to learn more about litter and find structural solutions that tackle the problem at the source!

You can complain about it, or you can do something about it.’

About plastic pollution

Litter is the biggest source of plastic pollution. Once Plastic gets into the ocean, it is almost impossible to clean. We need to do everything we can to prevent this from happening. This is also one of the main reasons why Fred cleans and records litter. ‘Everything I don’t pick up ends in the canals, and from there in the ocean. There it enters the food chain and if that happens, we end up eating our plastic pollution.’

Support Plastic Soup Foundation

Plastic Soup Foundation has coordinated World Cleanup Day in The Netherlands since 2018 and tons of other campaigns around the world. Our goal is to stop all plastic pollution at source. You can support us in our mission by becoming a donor.
